3 day diet

3 Day Diet

The 3 Day Diet is a low calorie crash diet that some people say is a "special combination of foods" that helps to create a weight loss effect in just three days. Some sites claim that you can lose up to 10lbs in just three days.


To do the 3 Day Diet, follow the instructions below:

Day One Breakfast: Black coffee, tea, or water; 1/2 grapefruit or juice; 1 slice toast with 1T of peanut butter Lunch: 1/2 cup tuna; 1 slice toast; black coffee, tea, or water Dinner: 3oz. any lean meat; 1 cup green beans; 1 cup carrots; 1 cup vanilla ice cream; black coffee, tea, or water

Day Two Breakfast: Black coffee, tea, or water; 1 egg (any style); 1 slice toast; 1 banana Lunch: 1 cup cottage cheese or tuna; 5 saltine crackers; black coffee, tea or water Dinner: 2 beef franks or hot dogs; 1/2 cup carrots; 1 banana; 1 cup broccoli or cabbage; 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream; black coffee, tea, or water

Day Three Breakfast: Black coffee, tea or water; 5 saltine crackers; 1 slice cheddar cheese; 1 apple Lunch: 1 hard boiled egg; 1 slice toast; black coffee, tea, or water Dinner: 1 cup tuna; 1 cup carrots; 1 cup cauliflower; 1 cup melon; 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream; black coffee, tea, or water.

Note: You are allowed to use fake sugar with your coffee. You are also allowed to use lemon, salt and pepper, mustard, and cooking spray in your food preparations.

There are a couple of reasons why this diet "works". It's very low calorie and you are required to drink a lot of coffee. The coffee acts as a diuretic, which helps you to lose water weight. Because the diet is only three days long, people are likely to stick with it.

The problem comes from what happens after those three days. While you may be initially elated at the weight you've lost in such a short time, the chance that the weight will soon come back on is very high. In most cases the weight you've lost is only water, not real fat loss. This means that when you return to your normal eating patterns, you will regain the weight.

Additionally, there could be a problem with the inclusion of ice cream in this diet. While there is certainly nothing wrong with ice cream in moderation (and you do eat it in moderation on the diet), this diet could have you subconsciously thinking about the ice cream as a reward for your good dieting behavior throughout the day.

Get serious about losing weight

If you're serious about losing weight one of the first things you need to do is get rid of all the unhealthy junk food in your house. Go through the fridge and throw out all the fat laden calorie foods and load up on fresh healthy veggies and fruits. Add eggs for protein and lean meats and fish.

Do the same thing with your cupboards and pantry. If that bag of chips isn't there you won't be able to eat it. There are healthy snacks you can have such as nuts and crackers and low fat cheeses. Unsalted pretzels are another choice. And of course nonfat yogurts. If you have to have something sweet freeze a container of yogurt. It will take a while to eat because it is frozen and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Eat pretzels not chips.
Exchange your potato chips, corn chips and other fried snacks for pretzels. The fat content in pretzels is far lower than the other snacks. And you still get the crunch.

If you have to have your corn chips, bake a batch yourself. Cut corn tortillas in strips or wedges, season with fresh lime juice, cayenne pepper and a bit of salt. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray and spread the tortillas out. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes until crispy. They will keep for a few days in an airtight container or zip lock bag.

Your brain determines how much you eat, how often, and what you eat. If you haven't eaten anything in awhile, your blood sugar drops signaling your brain to tell you you're hungry it's time to eat. If that's the only time you felt like eating you wouldn't have a weight problem.

However, there are still doubts about the efficacy of hypnosis, and the extent to which it works. Although hypnosis is not a miraculous cure, it can be helpful combined with a weight loss program involving a low fat diet and exercise. If you want to eat lots of fresh veggies and fruits and stay away from fatty foods, your diet will be more successful.

Hypnosis is considered to be fairly safe and inexpensive. It is an approach that can be helpful in a well integrated weight loss program. Your first step is to find a qualified hypnotherapist who can teach you how to self hypnosize yourself. It may take a few sessions until you get the knack of it. It's important that you like and trust the hypnotherapist, otherwise you may be resistant to any suggestions he or she makes.

The therapist will give you a series of steps that you use to put yourself in state more receptive to suggestions. He or she will give you the suggestions so they strengthen the ones made during the original sessions.
