Eat a cup of cream soup before lunch and dinner. It has been shown that having an appetizer, salad, or cup of soup, about 15 minutes before the meal leads to fat loss. Your brain needs about 20 minutes from when you start eating to recognize it's full. Give it a head start by leisurely dining on a salad, by the time you get to the entrée you'll probably feel fuller and eat less. What works even better is a cup of cream soup, or soup with an olive oil or cheese boost, such as minestrone with a tablespoon of olive drizzled on the top and a tablespoon of Parmesan cheese. The fat in the cheese, cream, or oil quickly signals the brain it's had enough food. Fat also takes longer to digest so you feel fuller longer.
